One man. Thirteen years stolen. A daughter’s name destroyed. A justice system exposed.
Lungisani Ngobese was convicted of a crime he did not commit the rape of his own child  on inconsistent testimony and discredited forensic evidence. Gang-raped in prison, betrayed by the system and those closest to him, he finally walked free when new evidence proved his innocence. But freedom brought new questions: Does he patiently wait for compensation, or fight relentlessly to reclaim his name and dignity? Through raw drama, haunting poetry, stirring music and powerful movement, a dynamic multi-lingual ensemble of four actors and two musicians brings this true story and the silenced voices of the wrongfully convicted  powerfully to life.

About the Writer & Director
Bongani Mbatha is a versatile performer, writer, independent producer, director, mentor and educator with over 15 years of experience in theatre, film and television. A passionate storyteller committed to socially engaged work, he has appeared in numerous stage productions including Maluju Zulu, Ngicela Uxolo, Sophiatown, ZemQadini, Bigly Yuge, Sweetie Darling and ABAPHANSI! (Standing Ovation Award winner, 2024). On screen he is known for roles in Uzalo, Imbewu, Durban Gen, eHostela, Sibongile and The Dlaminis, Nikiwe and Amalanga Awafani.
As a writer and director, Mbatha has created and helmed many impactful productions such as The Missing Hitman, Zishaphi?, Dusted Gold, All Gone, Bengithi Lizokuna and the award-winning ABAPHANSI!. He works closely with young artists through his company Moving Acts Productions and Gcinumelusi Arts Movement, and is a dedicated facilitator with ASSITEJ SA. His work is driven by a deep commitment to justice, community stories and authentic South African voices.

In my opinion, this is a powerful production that everyone must see  you will not regret it. The combination of true-story intensity, exceptional performances and creative storytelling makes it one of the most important and moving pieces on the 2026 Fringe.
